Can I complete my closing virtually?
Many parts of a real estate transaction can be completed electronically. Whether your signing appointment can be completed virtually will depend on your transaction and applicable legal, Land Titles, lender and identity verification requirements.
When should I contact my lawyer?
As early as possible.
Once you have a signed purchase or sale agreement, send it to us so we can open your file and begin preparing for closing.
For a refinance, you can contact us once your financing has been approved or your lender or mortgage broker has instructed you to retain a lawyer.
What are disbursements?
Disbursements are expenses incurred in completing your transaction that are separate from our legal fee.
They can include Land Titles registration charges, title searches, title insurance, couriers, bank charges and other third-party costs.
Do you handle investment properties?
Yes. We can assist with purchases, sales and refinancing of residential investment properties.
Do you handle commercial real estate?
Yes. GP Legal Hub assists with commercial purchases, sales, financing, refinancing, leases and other commercial real estate matters.
Can you help me add or remove someone from title?
Yes. We can assist with adding or removing individuals from title. We will first review the circumstances of the proposed transfer, including any existing mortgage or registrations affecting the property.
Can you help with a private mortgage?
Yes. We can assist with private mortgage transactions. The final legal fee will depend on the nature and complexity of the financing.
